Vitamin Responsive Disorders

Vitamins are required as cofactors in the catalytic role of numerous enzymes in the body. A number of rare, congenital disorders causing deficiencies of vitamin B12 (cobalamin) and folic acid (folate) in infants and children present as megaloblastic anemia, often with neurological symptoms. Mutations in genes associated with enzymes dependent upon vitamins B1, B6, and B7 (biotin) result in serious neurological presentations such as developmental delays, myelopathy, cerebral atrophy, intractable epilepsy with seizures, and many other issues.

Solace Nutrition has developed medical foods geared toward the dietary management of vitamin-responsive disorders. These include Cyto B1, a soluble, microencapsulated powder form of thiamine and VB6 P5P, a bioavailable form of vitamin B6 in a powder.

Available for purchase only on behalf of individuals under medical supervision and current medical care, these products are allergen-tested at no detectable level (NDL) for eggs, dairy, fish, soy, tree nuts, and peanut. Some are also allergen-tested for crustacean, wheat, and corn. They are free from GMOs, artificial flavorings, and preservatives.
