Thiamine-Responsive Disorders
Thiamine-Responsive megaloblastic anemia (TRMA) is a rare genetic disorder affecting a thiamine transporter in the body. This autosomal recessive disorder is characterized by megaloblastic anemia, progressive sensorineural hearing loss, and diabetes mellitus. TRMA is treated with high doses of vitamin B1 (thiamine).
