Glutaric Acidemia (MADD)

Multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenation deficiency (MADD) is a rare, autosomal recessive metabolic disorder that compromises the body's ability to use proteins and fats for energy. The unprocessed nutrients can accumulate, possibly resulting in the dangerous chemical imbalance of acidosis. For affected patients, supplementation with riboflavin has been found effective in managing this condition and preventing acidosis.

For dietary management of mitochondrial cytopathies or glutaric acidemia type II (a MADD subtype) Solace Nutrition has developed Cyto B2 medical food, a tasteless, microencapsulated, powdered form of riboflavin that is easy and convenient to consume. Cyto B2 is specifically designed for individuals over one year of age afflicted by mitochondrial cytopathies or glutaric acidemia type II.

Available for purchase only on behalf of individuals under medical supervision and current medical care, Cytotine is allergen-tested at no detectable level (NDL) for eggs, dairy, fish, crustacean, soy, gluten, corn, tree nuts, and peanut.
