Cobalamin Responsive Disorders

There are a number of rare inborn errors of cobalamin and folate absorption, transport, cellular uptake, and intracellular metabolism in humans, which have been identified and further delineated as to their underlying disease-causing gene mutations. Successful management of symptoms with cobalamin supplementation has been shown in patients receiving dietary vitamin B12.

Solace Nutrition has developed VB12MAX, a hydroxocobalamin (vitamin B12) liquid concentrate, as a medical food for such dietary management of Methylmalonic acidemia and other cobalamin-responsive disorders. The vitamin B12 in this product is in the form of hydroxocobalamin acetate.

Available for purchase only on behalf of individuals under medical supervision and current medical care, VB12MAX is allergen-tested at no detectable level (NDL) for eggs, dairy, fish, crustacean, corn, soy, gluten, tree nuts, and peanut. It contains no artificial flavors or preservatives.
